The Marriage Ref

Thursday, February 26th, 2009

 Jerry Ref

This fall, Jerry Seinfeld will produce a new NBC reality show that will feature celebrities, comedians, and athletes that will judge couples in the midst of marital disputes while recommending various strategies to resolve their problems.

…Man, how great would it be to have Jerry Seinfeld weigh in on a disagreement between you and your loved one? I wouldn’t even care if I lost the arguement.

“Sure, honey, I’ll have that vasectomy now that I know Jerry thinks it’s a good idea.”

An ode to the constant remakes… movies, television shows, old television shows into new movies, old movies into new television shows…

We take a look at who, in young Hollywood, would be cast in the popular ’90s NBC sitcom if it ever hit the theaters.  We revamped Ross for the heck of it,… just like Producers would do…

The Wonder(ing Why) Years

Friday, September 5th, 2008

80s Kevin Arnold

The Hollywood Reporter is stating that “The Wonder Years” writer-producer Bob Brush and NBC have teamed up to create an hour-long project titled “Lost in the ’80s”. It’s being considered an ’80s version of “The Wonder Years” and is said to be a cross between “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” and “The Ice Storm”.

…First of all, let’s stay clear of comparing anything to The Wonder Years because nothing can touch that show… How about an ’80s version of “American Dreams“? …That sounds better. …Second, didn’t FOX already try this with “That ’80s Show”? And fail embarrassingly? If this show is to make it past episode 3, they’ll need to completely rely on the characters and the events that influenced them. Don’t show me the Zack Morris phone… Don’t make one character dressed as a punk, another as the typical jock, another a pocket-protector nerd… The 1980s should be the backdrop of the show and nothing more.

Lastly, …when is “The Wonder Years” going to finally be released on DVD? Let’s pay for the music rights and get these seasons on the shelves already.
