The Office writer-producers Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg have been recruited by Sony to work on a new Ghostbusters installment. According to The Hollywood Reporter, ‘The original filmmakers, including director Ivan Reitman, and cast are aware of the project and involved in it’s development. Some original cast members might be involved, but not in central roles.’
OK, so let’s just say for discussion’s sake that they decide to make the main characters the children of the original four, who would you cast to play the parts? Comment below. Here are my choices…
Venkman: By far the hardest character to replace. Bill Murray is Peter Venkman. End of story. …but if I HAD to pick someone else, I think it might be John Krasinski. He seems to have the subtle, dry humor down.
Stantz: Seth Rogen, the ‘it’ every-man right now, would be interesting. I’d like to see him running from ghosts. …Preferably high. (Note: Harold Ramis palyed his father in Knocked Up…connections!)
Spengler: Tina Fey… that’s right, I changed it up. Put a little spin on it.
Zeddmore: I think Anthony Anderson would be great for the part. He’s always good for a laugh…but then again, if Robert Downey Jr. is up to the task…
…As I look at this group individually, I like what I see. As a whole, no way. Oh well. Your turn.
Oh, and Jonah Hill as Slimer. Definitely.
Who do you think could play Michael Phelps if a movie were made about the Olympic phenom?
Extratv.com lets you vote on 3 possibilites - Ben Affleck, John Krasinski, and Matthew McConaughey.
…Affleck? Only if Kevin Smith’s directing. McConaughey? Sure, I could see him playing Michael Phelps…Sr.! Krasinski is the clear-cut winner. Game over.
…But you can vote Here anyway.

According to HollywoodReporter.com, B.J. Novak (The Office) could possibly be cast in Quentin Tarantino’s next film ‘Inglorious Bastards’. Novak is in talks to play one of the soldiers in the film about a band of Jewish resisters in Vichy-era France.
IMDB lists Brad Pitt and Simon Pegg as co-stars Novak could be joining in this project.
